The 1259 course is the introductory program for Citrix, featuring the latest release, Presentation Server 4.5, and the new “Access Management Console”. The course begins with a discussion of Citrix “Application Delivery” technologies in today’s marketplace, and follows into the installation and configuration of a Citrix Presentation 4.5 Server. 

 
As the course goes on, students publish applications, configure server-to-client redirection (offloading multimedia to client devices), client-to-server redirection (file type associations from the ICA clients to the apps published on the server), install and configure ICA clients with all the new features and deployment options, configure Citrix Policies, configure Server Health Monitoring and Recovery, Load Management, Installation Manager, the new generation 2.0 of Application Isolation Environments, Application Streaming (formerly Citrix’ “Project Tarpon”), including the Citrix Streaming client and the Citrix Streaming Profiler. 

 
Students spend a half-day on all the technical details of the PS4 printing environment. The course introduces each topic, involves hands-on labs, and covers Citrix recommendations and "Best Practices". The final day of the course involves deploying and securing applications over the web, with hands-on labs for building and configuring a Web Interface 4.5 with Citrix Secure Gateway 3.0.
