Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) and Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are performance-based tests that measure actual competency on live systems. RHCT is the first step in establishing Linux credentials and is an ideal certification for those transitioning from non-UNIX/Linux environments. RHCE, called the "crown jewel of Linux certifications," proves an individual's ability to configure networking services and security on servers running a Red Hat OS. RHCE was recently named the hottest certification in all of IT by CertCities.com.

 

 

 

Certification Tracks

Based on your level of comfort  with Linux and experience, you may choose either a basic entry level course RH033, or a more complex level RH300.  The description below gives you more details on the various tracks Red Hat offers.

Course Overview

  • RH033 Red Hat Linux Essentials
    For individuals with no command-line experience in Linux or UNIX who want to develop skills for using and customizing Red Hat Linux workstations.
    NOTE: See course description for impending changes


  • RH133 System Administration
    For users of Linux/UNIX who want to start building skills in systems administration on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, to a level where they can attach and configure a workstation on an existing network. Includes the RH202 RHCT Certification Lab Exam on the last day.

    Enroll in RH131 if you're not interested in RHCT certification or wish to take the exam later.

  • RH253 Red Hat Linux Networking & Security Administration
    Teaches skills necessary to setup a Red Hat Linux server and configure common network services and security at a basic level.

  • RH300 RHCE Rapid Track Course
    Designed for those who already possess significant systems administration experience and knowledge in a Linux/UNIX environment, and who desire the fastest path to RHCE certification. Includes the RHCE Exam on the last day.

    Enroll in RH301 if you're not interested in RHCE certification or wish to take the exam later.

Exams

  • RH202 Red Hat Certified Technician exam
    The RHCT exam tests your abilities to set up and configure a Workstation and to eliminate common errors.

  • RH302 Red Hat Certified Engineer exam
    The standard of Linux-Certifications since 1999. Additional to the contents of the RHCT, this exams tests configuration, security and service troubleshooting.
