Before attending this Microsoft MCITP course, students must also have:
An understanding of hardware concepts, including RAID,SAN, processor options, memory requirements, limitations of disk I/O, and storage options for Exchange server.
Working experience with designing and implementing Active Directory in Windows Server 2003.
An Understanding of Exchange architecture, including the purpose of server roles, functions of specific server roles, message routing and queuing, standard messaging protocols (SMTP, IMAP4, POP3), replicating data stores, client access methods, etc.
Working knowledge of Exchange System Manager, Exchange Best Practice Analyzer (ExBPA), and Microsoft Visio(to create infrastructure diagrams)
Familiarity and experience with a Windows scripting or command line scripting
Must have a basic understanding of high availability concepts
Must have a basic familiarity with deriving business requirements.
Must have a basic understanding of backup systems, including WinNT backup (ntbackup.exe)
Must have working experience with Exchange 2000 Server or Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2007. For example, must have installed, maintained, and supported a production Exchange environment.
