They are typically employed in medium to very large computing environments, using Exchange Server. They typically support multiple locations with 200 to over 100,000 users. They routinely monitor application status and troubleshoot application problems.

| IT Professionals and help desk professionals who want to learn about Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. These IT professionals and help desk professionals should have at least 3 years experience working in the IT field-typically in the areas of network administration, help desk, or system administration. No experience with Exchange Server is necessary.

| This Microsoft MCTS certification boot camp requires that students have at least some experience using these tools and applications:
NT Backup command and NS Lookup command
Microsoft Management Console (MMC)
Active Directory Sites and Services, Active Directory Users and Computers
Internet Information Services (IIS) Administration
Working knowledge of Windows server operating system, including, storage configuration, basic backup and restore techniques, and client/server application interactions.
Working knowledge of network technologies like Transmission Control Protocol (TCP/IP) and Domain Name System (DNS)
Basic routing concepts: Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN), routers, switches and hubs, etc.
Working knowledge of Active Directory; how user objects are managed, what is stored in Active Directory partitions, basic architectures (domain, forest, sites, etc.), and how domain controllers are managed. Also, site and site connector configuration, schema and configuration partitions, and Global Catalogs
Conceptual understanding of e-mail technologies like Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) e-mail protocols, the differences between transport protocols and client access protocols (Post Office Protocol (POP), Internet Access Message Protocol (IMAP), and SMTP)
