Many larger companies offer tuition reimbursement programs for continuing education, including IT training, for their employees. This money usually does not come out of department training budgets. Corporations can write off as much as $5,250 per year per employee for this purpose.
However, despite the availability of such benefits for IT professionals, only a small percentage of IT departments take advantage of their company′s Tuition Reimbursement Programs. Most are often unaware that tuition reimbursement funds can be appropriated for IT training programs and certification boot camps. This is because it is very rare for IT training companies to be able to attach College Credits to IT training (which are required for Tuition Reimbursement).
Tuition reimbursement is a terrific way for you to finance your training without hurting the department balance sheet. Your manager will love you for doing it.
